Director of the AT Home Experience LTC/Chief Nurse

**Position Overview**

Working collaboratively with all leaders at Shalom Village The Manager of IPAC implements, sustains and audits the Shalom Village infection prevention and control program. The Manager ensures that the program, practices and policies meet all regulatory requirements as currently outlined in Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Standard for Long-Term Care Homes April 2022, Ontario MOHLTC and ensures all updated requirements are met.

**Qualifications**

A Health Professional with a degree in a health profession or relevant science degree including Registered Nurse with completion of BScN or Registered Practical Nurse and registered in good standing with the College of Nurses Ontario able to complete the requirements for registration with the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (ss.102(5) and 102(6) of the Regulation) within the legislated time frame.

Act/Regulation: The IPAC Lead shall have, at a minimum, education and experience in IPAC practices, including: a) Infectious diseases; b) Cleaning and disinfection; c) Data collection and trend analysis; d) Reporting protocols; e) Outbreak management; f) Asepsis; g) Microbiology; h) Adult education; i) Epidemiology; j) Program management; and k) Within three years of s.102(6) of the Regulation coming into force, the IPAC Lead shall have current certification in infection control from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (ss.102(5) and 102(6) of the Regulation) Act/Regulation: The IPAC Lead shall have, at a minimum, education and experience in IPAC practices, including: a) Infectious diseases; b) Cleaning and disinfection; c) Data collection and trend analysis; d) Reporting protocols; e) Outbreak management; f) Asepsis; g) Microbiology; h) Adult education; i) Epidemiology; j) Program management; and k) Within three years of s.102(6) of the Regulation coming into force, the IPAC Lead shall have current certification in infection control from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (ss.102(5) and 102(6) of the Regulation)

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in infection control in the Long-Term Care Sector preferred
- Training and experience in Quality Improvement is preferred.
- Training and experience in Adult Education is preferred (eg. Onsite training and education for staff pertaining to infection control)
- Access and knowledge to epidemiological principles, statistics and microbiology and the ability to integrate this knowledge into clinical practice would be a significant asset.
- Demonstrates effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in COVID-19 environment.
- Need to be flexible with hours if required.
- Current CPR and First Aid is required.
- Solid understanding of adult learning principles and teaching methods to facilitate learning.
- Ability to organize, plan, and work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $28.54-$30.52 per hour
