**Shifts: Days/Evenings including weekends**

**Rate of Pay: $22.03 - $25.91 per hour**

Reporting to the Manager, Regional Referral System the Clerk Typist will support Central Intake for multiple clinical pathways. The Clerk Typist is responsible for receiving and processing referrals, maintaining records and booking clients according to the criteria determined by each clinical pathway and providing administrative support to the Regional Referral System. The Clerk Typist will also contribute to system improvement and support planning activities by running reports and providing context for trends to the Regional Managers.

**Qualifications**:
**Education/Experience**:

- Diploma in office administration program or related program
- Recent admissions/registration and appointment scheduling experience
- Clerical experience preferably in a healthcare environment

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers, and customers
- Ability to identify, understand, and meet the requirements of internal and external customers
- Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team
- Independent judgment when dealing with confidential and sensitive issues, including the ability to maintain confidentiality of records, actions, and information relating to clients and/or hospital business
- Proficient in data entry with the ability to maintain a high degree of speed and accuracy
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work

**Assets**:

- The ability to converse in a second language would be an asset
