The Patient Advocate is the primary contact to assist with and identify problems related to quality, service and

concerns of patients, families, employees and physicians. Based on outcomes, the incumbent will make appropriate

recommendations and referrals to address identified issues. The Patient Advocate is an advocate for the patient from

a neutral perspective and provides an unbiased presence on all issues. The Patient Advocate will assist with

planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs that would reduce concerns of patients receiving care

or services at the Hospital to support an optimal patient and family experience.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with and sensitivity to multi‑cultural clientele and issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team approach with corporate clients, management, medical and

support staff.
- Demonstrated awareness and adherence to established standards of professional practice and personal conduct.
- Experience or knowledge of the health care system and community based resources.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical problem solving and computer skills.
- Previous experience in patient advocacy or conflict mediation an asset.
- University degree in health or social sciences field; or college diploma with five years' work experience in the health

and/or social work field preferred.

Salary Range: $38.815 to 45.664
