Schedule: Monday and Wednesday: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Tuesday and Thursday: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Contract dates: May 2024 (end date to be determined based on seasonal layoff dates)
- Nature of the work:

- The principal and customary work of the employee in this employment class consists in accompanying and guiding, during sociocultural or sports activities, various youth or adult groups within the weight rooms related to campus recreation activities.
- The incumbent may also assist with PARC registrations, gym set-ups, open gym time activities and replacing in the outdoor education office, as needed.
- Responsibiliites:
- Perform tasks required in the operations of a sports complex;
- Responsible for the preparation of rooms, equipment and apparatus for Phys Ed courses or PARC activities. Set-up, dismantle, distribute, and collect equipment for students and staff as required for campus recreation activities;
- Monitor usage of the fitness training rooms under campus recreation to ensure comply with college policy;
- Track attendance of the rooms and monitor rooms to ensure user safety;
- Ensure that the inventory of equipment and supplies is in optimal condition and that an adequate reserve is maintained;
- Provides support in maintaining a booking system for the equipment, materials, and facilities under his/her responsibility;
- Provides support to Athletics, both athletes and coaches, to ensure equipment and facility are set-up and available as needed ;
- Prepare and maintain appropriate record, files, and reports;
- Report equipment that requires major repairs or replacement and carries out minor repairs when possible;
- Assist facility users, answer questions and requests for information, and register applicants for programs or activities, including the collection of fees as required;
- Supports Auxiliary Services in tasks related to other areas of the department including, but not limited to, Service Center (print shop/AV), bookstore, and receiving;
- Perform other related tasks.

**Requirements**:

- Qualifications:

- To have a secondary school diploma (DES) or a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.
- Conditions:
- Very good customer service skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of equipment found in a fitness centre or weight room.
- Intermediate French and English oral communication skills (testing may be required)
- Ability to work co-operatively in a team environment as well as to work independently.
- Completed certification or to be in the process of completing a certification in the area of personal training such as Can Fit Pro, YMCA, FMS (Functional Movement Training) or ACE (American Council Exercise), an asset
