Reporting to the Director, Career-Integrated Learning, the incumbent creates, develops and delivers current strategic career management programming in support of students’ and recent alumni objectives to successfully obtain and maintain employment in the client’s chosen field. The incumbent delivers consultative services through working with clients on a one-on-one, small group and classroom workshop delivery. - and long-term employment objectives. The incumbent educates and guides clients through the job search strategy process and its components. Collaboration with faculty and other staff members is essential to the duties of this position.
**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Delivering one-on-one services and programs to Sheridan students and alumni including consultations in personal marketing tools (cover letters, resumes, and portfolios), job search strategies, employment and career management strategies, employment research, interview skills and negotiation; treating clientele uniquely and tailoring services to their individual needs;
- Working with clients with employment barriers including clients with disabilities, visible minorities, experienced workers who are re-careering, foreign trained professionals and others;
- Developing, maintaining and delivering employment related programming in classroom workshops to prepare students for up-coming networking or career fairs, and/or for general job search activities;
- Determining the structure and content of workshops, assessing and tailoring workshop content and delivery methods in order to meet the needs of audience and continuously improving workshop content through review and revision;
- Developing and implementing marketing campaigns to students and faculty on Career Services and programs;
- Researching, sourcing, developing and up-dating materials and resources for the Centre’s resource lab and web site;
- Performing other related duties as assigned.

- Minimum of a 3-year degree in Business, Humanities, Adult Education, Human Resources, Career and Work Counselling, or a related field;
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a business environment which includes progressive responsibility in a combination of the following areas: employment development, human resources, coaching and mentoring, employment recruitment, job placement, training and employment consultation;
- Career/Work counselling or Career Development Practitioner diploma preferred;
- Related experience which demonstrates understanding of the barriers and issues experienced by job seekers required;
- Knowledge of community services, labour market, occupational requirements and job search resources as well as knowledge of career planning tools and resume critique approaches required;
- Excellent customer service, communication, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills required;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, particularly in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
