Your Role and Responsibilities

Our Benefits Offering Manager position is a reliable and trusted resource on all Health & Welfare Benefits program matters for both IBM Canada employees and retirees. We seek a growth-oriented self-starter with a positive attitude who would manage IBM HR benefits programs that are essential and innovative, promote enhanced employee experience, anticipate workforce needs, and align with the IBM business landscape.

Benefits programs include health and dental benefits, life insurance, disability, leaves, financial well-being programs and other ancillary benefits for Canada.

Key responsibilities include:

- Implement benefit program strategies in alignment with IBM business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with other North America Benefits team members to help drive overall strategic and transformational activities for the region.
- Support employee and retiree benefits program reviews based on market trends research, data-driven insights through analysis of workforce needs, benefits usage, cost analysis, and other factors.
- Liaison with consultants, brokers, insurance carriers and outsourced benefits administration vendors on benefits programs renewals, revisions and deployment of benefits program offerings.
- Manage benefits contracts, including renewals and amendments, and partner with Procurement on competitive benchmarking and bids.
- Manage overall vendor spending in partnership with IBM Finance.
- Plan and manage annual benefits enrollment and renewal activities.
- Manage investigations and exception requests as it relates to health and welfare programs.
- Manage escalations and support resolutions for employees and retiree concerns.
- Execute, redesign and deploy non-insured programs, based on business, workforce and legislative needs. This may include policy, plan document, and contractual revisions, as well as ongoing coordination with internal and external benefits administrators to support plan delivery.
- Help build analytical capabilities and data-driven insights to inform recommendations.
- Support simplification and automation of processes and ensure all processes are clearly documented.
- Ensure benefits programs and policies are in continuous compliance and alignment with legislative changes and IBM’s changing business needs.
- Promote meaningful employee choice, flexibility, cost sharing, and tax efficiency in the design of benefits.
- Promote employee-centric, timely, and meaningful communication, including education and awareness of benefit offerings using available technological solutions. Provide ongoing guidance to IBMers on benefit offerings and support AI-driven solutions to improve employee experience in partnership with HR Services and other teams. Update and maintain employee-facing communications, including policy documents and enablement materials.
- Facilitate departmental business controls and compliance on benefits programs, which may also be inclusive of internal and external audits.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 5+ years’ experience with Canadian Health & Welfare benefits programs or related business or consulting experience
- Experience managing complex projects with cross-functional internal and external teams
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with tight turnaround times with the ability to prioritize work when there are competing demands and urgent business needs
- Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
- Ability to organize, analyze, interpret, and explain data findings
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Strong vendor management experience, including experience with contract renewals
- Maintains Canadian benefits knowledge through ongoing educational programs, participating in professional societies, etc.
- Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation preferred
- Experience with technology projects
- Knowledge of AI
