We currently have a **Regular Full-Time** opportunity for a **Technical System Administrator **in the **Information Services **department at **Bayview **campus.

**Hours of Work:
**Weekdays**:Days; 8hrs; As per schedule

**On Call Required**

**Summary of Duties**

Reporting to the Manager, Business Systems and Workflow, the successful applicant will be required to perform the following functions:

- Support of system for software, hardware and server infrastructure
- Lifecycle administration including installation, documentation, configuration, upgrades, patches and maintenance
- Maintain/monitor/use vendor provided 3rd party tools
- Documentation and maintenance of technical/system specifications
- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
- Perform database weekly, monthly, backup, or any other ad-hoc tasks from vendor
- Create SQL scripts if required for ad-hoc requests/data extracts and schedule to run
- Monitor interfaces (HL7/FHIR) and troubleshoot any message errors
- Support system servers and coordination of upgrades and patches with Technical Services and Vendor as needed
- Monitoring system/user performance and identifying technical opportunities to improve efficiencies

Production support
- Develop and maintain documentation for technical/system, configuration, and support calls using industry best practice and standards
- Assist in the development and documentation of department processes, technical and database standards

**Qualifications/Skills**
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Technology-related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4-6 years of related experience
- Expertise in MS SQL database administration (DBA)
- Expertise in SQL query language
- Expertise in Crystal Report and other standard report tools an asset
- Familiarity with design principles of robust, secure, HA and high-performing server side architecture
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows platforms
- Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, Wireless)
- Ability to correlate incident trends into problem management and execute permanent fixes
- Demonstrated experience using an ITIL based ticketing systems
- Demonstrated Root Cause Correct Action analysis and report generation
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent client relations skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Self-starter with an ability to work independently
