**JOB SUMMARY**

The Production Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the production department. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, including cooking, smoking, meat production, scheduling, data-driven results, key performance indicators (KPIs), continuous improvement initiatives, and quality checks. The Production Manager will lead a team of supervisors and production staff, setting and achieving production goals while maintaining the highest quality standards.

**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**

Production Scheduling:

- Develop and maintain production schedules that align with customer demand and inventory levels.
- Manage and coordinate all production activities, including cooking, smoking, and meat production.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and finished products.
- Adjust production schedules as necessary to accommodate changing priorities or unforeseen issues.

Leading team and driving results:

- Lead, motivate, and mentor production leads and staff to achieve production targets.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the production team.
- Implement data-driven processes to optimize production efficiency and quality.
- Analyze production data, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track production performance.
- Report on KPIs and take action to address any areas that do not meet targets.

Labor Management:

- Effectively manage the allocation and utilization of production staff to meet production goals.
- Monitor labor costs and productivity, ensuring that labor resources are efficiently utilized.
- Plan and oversee workforce schedules, including shift assignments and overtime as needed.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of production personnel.

Quality Control and Continuous Improvement:

- Establish and maintain rigorous quality control standards and procedures.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet quality and safety standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the production process.
- Identify and implement best practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Compliance and Safety:

- Ensure all production activities adhere to safety regulations and quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

**ROLE QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in production management, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and best practices.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
