Salary range is $64,000.00-$81,000.00 per annum. Wages are scaled based on education and experience.

**What will you be doing?**

In this role, it will be important to have a service-oriented attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent solutions to our internal clients. We are looking for someone with experience in platform engineering, DevOps and process improvement who will constantly seek out opportunities for achieving greater efficiencies in our business.

You will join a team of IT and software development professionals with a wide-ranging set of skills and a desire to try out new solutions and technologies.

**Key Responsibilities**

Our IT Operations group implements and maintains our line of business IT systems and hardware across the organization. Working closely with our software developers, we:

- Administer the network of the more than 70 linux-based virtual servers which run our company’s line of business systems.
- Ensure the stability and integrity of voice, data and wireless network services by designing, developing and maintaining the LANs and WANs that support our company's business.
- Ensure that our network and server infrastructure is kept updated documented and secure.
- Define network access rules and implement security measures to keep our company's networks and systems safe from unwanted intrusion, data leaks, and malicious activity.
- Assess our capacity needs and implement plans to scale our systems to meet demand.
- Support, maintain and extend our corporate voice systems.
- Automate administrative tasks through simple shell scripting and declarative configuration.
- Evaluate new technologies and provide recommendations on technical solutions and direction.
- Provide exceptional service to our users through strong technical skills and excellent communication.
- Accelerate our digital transformation as we implement cloud-native technologies to modernize our tools and practices.
- Administer and continue to support our rollout of Microsoft 365 productivity tools, in particular Exchange Online, Teams, Entra, and SharePoint.

**Essential Skills**
- A positive, enthusiastic demeanour
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- 5+ years’ experience with implementing and maintaining TCP/IP networks and the services that support them including DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMB and NFS
- 5+ years of experience administering Linux-based server environments
- Intermediate scripting and automation in one or more of: BASH, Ansible, Powershell or Python
- Experience with cloud native technologies, including one or several of the following: Kubernetes (and Helm), Docker (including compose), Container-d, RKE/RKE2 or Podman.
- A proven ability to identify and proactively resolve network and server problems
- The ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within diverse teams
- A high level of self-motivation and personal initiative
- The ability to communicate effectively with others with strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Experience with platform engineering with SUSE Rancher, OpenShift, Po
