Upper Canada Village
(11 km east of Morrisburg)

**SALARY**:$18.05 per hour

**PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT**:June to September, 2025

**WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO DO IN THIS ROLE?**

You will:

- Be a representative of one of Morrisburg’s premium and internationally recognized tourism sites.
- Interpret various aspects of the history of 1860s Ontario through music and drama-related activities and special events.
- Lead children’s activity sessions as part of the on-site youth programs.
- Work safely at all times and report unsafe activities immediately to your supervisor.
- Embody the SLPC’s equity, diversity and inclusion principles while interacting with staff and guests.

**HOW DO I QUALIFY?**

You have:

- Proven ability to perform before an audience.
- The ability to read and transpose music.
- The ability to sing the harmony line.
- Background in performing arts - music and drama.
- The ability to communicate and to interpret effectively to large numbers of people of various ages and backgrounds.
- The ability to communicate well with children.
- The ability to study and learn the interpretive and historical material related to the position and the Village.
- The ability to perform physical duties in order to carry out the various interpretive activities on site associated with the position(s) assigned.
- The ability to wear historical costume.
- The ability to learn all safety protocols and procedures to ensure personal, guest and fellow staff safety is maintained at all times.

A vulnerable service sector check is required for this position.

**À QUOI PUIS-JE M’ATTENDRE À CE POSTE?**

Vous devrez:

- agir comme représentant ou représentante de l’un des principaux sites touristiques de Morrisburg, de réputation internationale;
- interpréter diverses dimensions de l’histoire de l’Ontario des années 1860 au moyen d’activités et d’événements spéciaux liés à la musique et au théâtre;
- animer des séances d’activités pour les enfants dans le cadre des programmes destinés aux jeunes sur place;
- travailler de façon sécuritaire en tout temps et signaler immédiatement les situations dangereuses aux superviseurs;
- agir conformément aux principes d’équité, de diversité et d’inclusion de la CPSL lors des échanges avec le personnel et la clientèle.

**QUELLES SONT LES COMPÉTENCES RECHERCHÉES?**

Vous vous distinguez par:

- une aptitude avérée à vous produire devant un public;
- la capacité de lire et d’interpréter des partitions musicales;
- la capacité de chanter des harmonies;
- une expérience des arts du spectacle (musique et théâtre);
- la capacité de communiquer efficacement et d’interpréter des moments historiques à un grand nombre de personnes de différents groupes d’âge et de divers milieux;
- la capacité de bien communiquer avec les enfants;
- la capacité d’étudier des documents d’interprétation et historiques, et d’en tirer des leçons, au sujet du poste et du Village;
- la capacité d’effectuer des tâches physiques nécessaires pour la réalisation de diverses activités d’interprétation sur place liées au poste attribué;
- la capacité de porter un costume historique;
- la capacité d’apprendre tous les protocoles et procédures de sécurité afin d’assurer la sécurité du personnel, des visiteurs et de collègues en tout temps.

Une vérification des antécédents en vue d’un travail auprès de personnes vulnérables est requise pour ce poste.
