**What is the Role**

The Human Resources Advisor is part of a four-person team, working collaboratively in the delivery of human resources to the Federation. This role has the primary responsibility for delivery of a range of organizational programs and services, while supporting the broader team in the delivery of specific employee and labour relations activities, where appropriate.

**What You Will Do**

***Compensation and Benefits
- Analyze market data and make recommendations on pay strategy with leaders for all positions, both in-scope and out-of-scope.
- Conduct and participate in total compensation surveys.
- Review local, regional, national data and practices to ensure total compensation programs are consistent with Federation philosophy and are competitive with the market.
- Develop, implement and administer total compensation programs.
- Perform analysis, forecasts and modeling for incentive plans.
- Use data and metrics to determine program success and to drive improvements in all elements of total compensation.
- Process pay actions for employees, ensuring attention to detail and adhering to strict timelines.
- Determine and communicate employees’ fiscal benefit allocations based on applicable policies and employment status; regularly review processes to ensure efficiency with reporting.
- Serve as the primary contact for staff relating to extended health benefits questions, concerns and needs.
- Work with benefit carriers to discuss benefits/claims issues, which can be complex depending on the nature of the issue and ensure timely communication with all parties.
- Prepare renewal data reports annually.
- Coordinate voluntary continued group life coverage with retired staff members.

Disability Management
- Oversee disability leaves, accommodations and return-to-work processes.
- Work with third party disability case manager ensuring all parties (employee, leader, Human Resources and case manager) are communicating regularly.
- Work with leaders to identify appropriate accommodations based on functional limitations of employees.
- Liaise with the Workers’ Compensation Board and support the claims process for employees.

Training and Development
- Consult with unit leaders to assess training needs; ensure alignment with vision, mission and values; and identify suitable training programs.
- Assist in the design and facilitation of employee training and development programs including orientation modules, People Services processes, policies, and other workshops through internal and external service partners that will enhance the organizational knowledge and personal wellbeing of employees.
- Assist in the design and facilitation of leader training and development programs including management skills, recruitment, labour relations, legislative requirements, and other workshops through internal and external service partners that will enhance the organizational knowledge and personal wellbeing of leaders.
- Develop training and development metrics and present on findings using a variety of data visualization techniques.
- Continually evaluate training progress and training procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed.

Employee Engagement and Wellness
- Work with employees and leaders to establish a strong culture and employee engagement by aiming and focusing on innovative ways to recognize and show appreciation for employees.
- Participate on human resource led committees, such as the Employment Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee and Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
- Lead and support an employee wellness program.
- Support organizational focused events and initiatives to foster a better workplace culture, including conducting an annual employee engagement survey.

**What You Will Bring**
- An undergraduate degree in human resources or organizational behaviour, along with at least two years of experience in a Human Resources Advisory capacity, with an interest in growing professionally within the field.
