**Details**: This position will assist 3 male adults with mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, complex behaviors, high risk issues and substance abuse. The adults require support to foster community relationships, daily living skills, decision making using a best practice approach to help people to transition to a greater degree of independence and healthy lifestyle choices.

**Hours**:The hours for this position will vary and can include daytime, weekends, evenings, **and an emphasis on awake overnights and morning availability**. Shifts will be 8 hours or 12 hours in length. This position requires the employee to work a minimum of 16 hours per month.

**Responsibilities include**:
¨ Acting as a strong advocate for the individuals in the community

¨ Assisting individuals with daily living skills and finding employment

¨ Assisting with substance abuse issues using a Harm Reduction approach

¨ Assisting with managing mental health, substance use, health issues and trauma with other community partners in a multidisciplinary team

¨ Behavior Management/supporting adults with complex needs; Supporting with legal matters

¨ Participating in ongoing program implementation and development

¨ Completion of daily documentation and data collection

¨ Working with individuals and staff team to implement and maintain personal support plans

¨ One (1) year post secondary education in a related field

¨ Six (6) months experience working with adults with mental health and addiction concerns

¨ Equivalencies may be considered

¨ Police Information Check; including Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (within the last 6 months)

¨ Emergency First Aid—Level A CPR + AED

¨ Valid Class 5 drivers license, current drivers abstract, a reliable vehicle and auto insurance **are required**

¨ Familiarity with working with high risk populations, addictions, poverty, homelessness and the justice

system

¨ Ability to build healthy relationships and manage crisis situations

¨ Excellent verbal and written communication skills; computer/word processing skills

**Rate of Pay**:$22.43 per hour (flat rate)
