Reporting to the Chief Controller-Collision Centres, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for the entire function of the Collision Centre divisional payroll process. Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, monthly, quarterly, and annual remittances and maintain employee information. This individual will be experienced in payroll processes, familiar with legislation across Canada and ensure compliance.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
- Bi-weekly, weekly & semi-monthly full cycle payroll processing for Centralized payroll function for multiple locations.
- Process new hires, changes, and termination in payroll system.
- Manage divisional benefit program
- Monthly payroll liability account reconciliation
- Monthly/Quarterly WCB & EHT remittances for multiple Provinces
- Work with Human Resources Manager to facilitate onboarding, terminations and employee changes.
- Year end reporting & T4 reconciliation
- Ensure consistent compliance across all locations relating to payroll legislation.
- Point of contact for all payroll and benefit related inquiries
- Maintain electronic file system
- Respond to inquiries and requests from employees, management & government agencies
- Assist with system implementation for newly acquired locations.
- Standardize & Document payroll procedures for multiple payrolls
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) an asset
- 4+ years full cycle payroll experience
- 2+ year benefit administration
- Quebec payroll processing experience and asset
- Familiarity with ADP payroll is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- The ability to professionally handle confidential matters and show appropriate level of judgment
- Strong sense of ethics and integrity
