Production Technician

Toronto, Canada International Point of Care Full time

We are currently hiring a Production Technician (Plasma Separation Membrane) for our Primecare production department.

Reports to: Associate Director, Technical Systems

Schedule: 9 am to 5 pm (Monday-Friday)

Job Responsibilities:

- Performs various aspects of product manufacturing and assembly including, but not limited to formulation, casting, coating, cutting, and in-process testing of membranes.
- Sets up and runs printing processes.
- Follows and adheres to Standard Operating Procedures/Good Manufacturing Practices and verbal instructions; completes records as required.
- Assists in setting up, operation, and maintenance of production equipment.
- Prepares polymers for various types of membranes from raw materials.
- Assists in the determination of the correct casting parameters for each polymer based on in-process testing specifications.
- Ensures completion of work on schedule in keeping with priorities determined by the Department Head.
- Maintains department documentation such as database updates, and inventory records.
- Maintains raw material and in-process material inventories and ensures availability of materials for use, based on production schedule and expiry dating.
- Provides input to process improvements and assist with the development of new and/or improved manufacturing procedures.
- Examines components in the assembly process and flags potential defects or quality issues.
- Helps keep the facility clean and organized.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field is required.
- Knowledge of techniques in a biotechnology discipline or lab reagent manufacturing experience
- Greater than 3 years experience working in Reagent Manufacturing preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent organization and time management skills
