Our story began in the summer of 1994 when our founder taught 50 kids to swim in his parents’ backyard pool where Making Waves Swim School was born It wasn’t a sophisticated business however, it gave us the freedom to focus on what mattered most - our student’s progress in the pool, connecting with families and giving back to our community.

Now, over twenty-nine years later, we have four swim school locations in Brampton, Milton, Mississauga, and Vaughan and teach over 7,000 students per week in learn-to-swim programs. Our award-winning water safety programs have produced thousands of confident swimmers, while staying true to the care, enthusiasm and passion put into that first summer.

The HR Coordinator position will report directly to the HR Director, this is a Hybrid position in Brampton. As an HR Coordinator you will have a solid background in high volume recruiting and can assist in managing our day to day administrative and HR initiatives.

**CAN YOU?**
- Develop and implement new approaches within the community and through the use of social media to generate applicants and attract top talent.
- Securing incoming recruiting needs from managers, you will also be posting jobs internally to notify existing employees of job vacancies.
- Using internet, and web-based recruiting tools to find qualified applicants. It is a tight labor market and will require that you are proactively searching resume databases and job boards for available talent. You may also be participating in on-campus recruiting efforts, virtual job fairs, or in-person job fairs and interviews.
- Assisting in and serving as liaison during interviews
- Performing applicant vulnerable sector and reference checks prior to hire.
- Preparing written job offers and rejection communications.
- Regular consultations with hiring managers to ensure their staffing needs are being met.
- Preparing monthly status reports on open job vacancies and filled jobs.
- Ensuring a smooth employee onboarding program, providing necessary resources, and utilizing our HRIS (BambooHR) for facilitation
- Providing non-recruiting administrative and professional support to the HR Director on special projects.
- Maintain the HRIS (BambooHR) with accurate employee and contractor data for the purposes of accurate data processing and supporting robust HR reporting requirements
- Identify best practices and help implement improvements as required in systems or processes
- Assist in drafting policies, employment contracts for new hires, promotions as well as other HR related requests as may be necessary.
- Participate in weekly team meetings

**DO YOU HAVE ?**
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Human Resources required
- 3-5 plus years of work related Human Resources experience
- Solid High Volume Recruiting experience
- Displays self-motivation, independence and will tackle new challenges with a positive attitude
- Strong Communication skills Written and verbal
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use good judgement
- Demonstrated knowledge of current employment legislation and trends
- Intermediate to Advanced level knowledge of Google Suites
- Experience using BambooHR or similar HRIS system is preferred
- Flexibility to manage changing priorities
- Strong critical thinking and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail; must demonstrate a sense of urgency & deliver quality outcome
