**What we offer**

Successful applicants will need to be a member of LiUNA Local 183 in good standing, or ready and able to become a member of LiUNA Local 183 to accept this role.

**What you’ll do**
- Responsible for overall general labourer tasks related to site safety, including but not limited to housekeeping, installing and maintaining safety related systems (i.e. guardrails, floor coverings, etc.), material handling, and installing signage.
- Regularly assess risks and compliance on site.
- Assist with site specific safety orientation for new employees and Trade Partners on site.
- Supports the implementation of Mattamy Health and Safety Protocols, Safe Operating Procedures and Safety programs.
- Possess knowledge and understanding of pertinent provincial and local statutes, regulations, by-laws, and standards.
- Responsible to complete daily hazard assessment
- Assist with inspections, audits, and incident investigations as directed by the Senior Builder/Superintendent.
- Other duties as assigned.
- This individual may also be selected to be a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee as the worker representative through mutual agreement and then would be eligible for an additional 30 cents per hour premium.

- Experience in residential building or related construction industry.
- Possess organizational skills and flexibility to plan, initiate, prioritize own work, and balance multiple demands, conflicting priorities, pressures and deadlines.
- A team player, who values communication and can operate effectively with peers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to display mature, objective judgment in difficult or unusual situations through tactful direct personal action or referral to the appropriate individual.
- Proactive and resourceful, with a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

**Bonus points**
- OHS Provincial Certification (or in the process of obtaining) is considered an asset.
- Fluency in English and French considered an asset.
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills with accuracy in details.
- Joint Health and Safety Committee experience and certification, an asset.
