**JOB SUMMARY**:
This opportunity will appeal to someone interested in leading change in a U15 higher education institution, which will reshape how education is delivered to students. The incumbent will be interested in enhancing the synergies between digital and physical teaching and learning spaces, while guiding, facilitating, and collaborating on institutional responses to achieve an accessible and inclusive campus environment. This is also an opportunity for someone who wants to achieve better work-life integration, where spending time in the natural landscape is only minutes away. Located on beautiful Lake Ontario, this mid-sized city boasts a vibrant downtown with a variety of options for shopping, entertainment, and dining. The city is ideally located less than three hours from Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal which allows for easy city visits.
**Job Description**:
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Leadership in Developing Innovative and Pedagogically Robust Learning Environments**
- Provide pedagogical leadership in the design and development of physical learning environments, (e.g. active learning and technology-enabled learning spaces) that align with the enrollment considerations and curricular needs of the institution.
- Guide, coordinate, and liaise with internal and external (to Queen’s University) key partners to successfully accomplish projects that make the best use of existing and new learning spaces.
- Lead and facilitate, in collaboration with key institutional partners, the prudent, and sustainable use of enterprise-level educational technologies to support teaching and learning in physical infrastructure.
- Collaborate, coordinate and lead processes that advance and facilitate the accessibility goals of the University as well as AODA compliance requirements as it relates to teaching and learning.
- Participate in setting the direction and decision-making for curriculum and educational matters in online, blended, and face-to-face settings, as a member of the priority decision-making education focused committees at the institutional level.
- Oversee, coordinate, and lead CTL initiatives focused on building institutional strength, and instructors’ capacity in accessible instruction, and the use of pedagogically robust learning environments.
- Individually or in collaboration with partners, develop, facilitate, and implement learning programs (e.g. electronic learning tools, online, and in-person programs) related to learning environments, accessibility and inclusion.
- Recommend pedagogical innovations to pursue, based on the continuous analysis of emerging trends, best practices, and the needs of the institution and individual units.
**Leadership in Pedagogically-informed usage of Educational Technologies**
- Provide pedagogical leadership in the adoption and usage of learning technologies that foster equitable and successful digital instructional environments, for formal and informal academic learning environments.
- Provide leadership and coordination in processes that steward the adoption and use of educational technologies that meet the accessible and inclusive needs of learners and instructors.
- Advise on the impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence on educational technologies, and the teaching, learning and assessment practices of instructors.
- Advise and promote innovative assessment practices supported, in part, by educational technology.
- Advise on the use of learning analytics to enhance pedagogical practices and student outcomes through data-driven insights.
- Conduct research and collaborate with diverse internal and external key partners to identify system-level and procedural best practices and priorities for educational development in different digital learning environments.
- Mobilize scholarship, evidence, and best practices to guide the design of physical and digital learning spaces, including course instruction spaces (classrooms, labs seminar rooms etc.), and student learning spaces (study spaces, collaborative spaces).
