**Training & Development Coordinator**

**SUMMARY**:
As part of the Ka-Na-Chi-Hih team, the Training and Development Coordinator strives to foster individual and team growth. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this position focuses on shaping a strong orientation framework to support our centers and amplifying the expertise of our Wellness Workers in addiction and mental health work through innovative approaches. The Training and Development Coordinator is tasked with creating and executing a strategic training workplan for all lodges and utilizing diverse training methods. This position requires regular travel between Thunder Bay, Sioux Lookout, and Timmins. The expertise you provide will help us cultivate a skilled team and an exemplary work environment.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- _Training Coordination_: Coordinate staff training and development at all three locations.
- _Performance Enhancement_: Collaborate with Treatment Services Managers to identify performance gaps and development needs for individuals and teams.
- _Workplace culture and service enhancement_: Conduct regular visits to all three centres to gain an in-depth understanding of workplace culture and quality of service delivery.
- _Auditing and compliance_: Perform audits both virtually and on-site for all three centres to assess alignment to policies and regulatory standards.
- _Elevating service standards_: Design and implement training processes, procedures, and standards to enhance standards of treatment services.
- _Orientation training: _Oversee the orientation training plan for new hires, ensuring its adaptability and overseeing adjustments as necessary to meet evolving needs and standards.
- _Individual and team growth_: Identify current and future training requirements and devise tailored plans for individual growth and team enhancement.
- _Training programs_: Develop, deliver, and evaluate training programs and materials, continually gauging and optimizing their effectiveness.
- _Facilitation of Training:_ Deliver standardized training as required such as NVCI and First Aid & CPR
- _Integration of Quality Assurance Standards: _Develop and maintain current knowledge on Canadian Accreditation Council standards, MCCSS standards, employment laws, and the various service systems.
- Embrace any additional duties as assigned to contribute to the holistic functioning of our organization.

**ACCOUNTABILITY**:

- The Training and Development Coordinator is under the day-to-day supervision of the Human Resources Manager, with overall accountability to the Chief Executive Officer.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to its success.
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing at a supervisory level.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel frequently.
- Valid full G licence and ability to provide drivers abstract.
- Clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening upon request.
- Covid-19 Vaccination, unless unable as per a protected ground in the Human Rights Code.
- Ability to speak a NAN language is an asset.

**Education**
- Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related fields

**Experience**
- 3 years of practical experience in training and facilitation.
- Previous experience working with diverse teams and understanding their training needs.
- Experience with various training methods and familiarity with various learning styles
- Experience in project management and coordinating training initiatives across multiple locations or departments.
- Experience in working and networking with First Nation communities.
- Experience in working with Indigenous people, families, and communities.
