**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Manager - Training & Standards works under the direction of the
Owner/Operator’s and is an integral part of the overall Maintair Family. They will support and
work alongside all areas of the company and foster the team atmosphere of Maintair. They
will ensure all company training is completed to required expectations, administer training
courses and engage with Training Officer’s and Supervisors/Leads to ensure all team
members have the knowledge and tools required to perform their careers safely and
properly. Training will be conducted according to specific company policies & procedures,
including specific airline requirements, and includes Maintair specific courses. Quality
customer service, airline operations (ramp and counter), attention to detail, safety and team
leadership, multi-tasking and verbal/written communication skills, be energetic, outgoing,
understanding and accepting of change. They must also be flexible and able to deal with the
adapting nature of aviation, Canada Labor Code and Governmental requirements. This
position represents Maintair, its customers, and staff, and as a result must present a
professional, unwavering leadership character. This position may work remotely, as approved
by the Executive, and will involve potentially monthly travel to Maintair stations, and client
training seminars.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide support, leadership and direction to a variety of internal and external bodies

including: training officers, supervisors, staff, and other internal and external groups.
- Report to Owner/Operator’s on an as needed (daily) basis.
- Liaise with client carriers Training Departments on an as needed (daily) basis.
- Ensure company policies are being adhered to, as well as governmental and airline

policies.
- Ensure company training budget and finance related targets are met.
- Complete in-class training for Teams and work along with ATW & BTW Trainer’s during

transition period (if required).
- Arrange for, and coordinate required training assets (rooms, projectors etc.)

Complete on-line and e-learning sessions as required.
- Maintain accurate training records for all team members in a central electronic

database (ATW, BTW, Cargo, etc.).
- Remain current in all air carrier policies and procedures.
- Develop and update training courses as needed and in correlation with Training

Officers.
- Updating internal operations requirements, including station audits.
- Attend training seminars and train the trainer events.
- Attend professional development courses as needed.
- Teach, promote and engage in the company Safety Management Program (SMP).

Conduct Training Audits when and as needed to ensure all standards are met.
- Participate in investigative situations as and when needed in response to carrier

requirements.
- Be available to travel on short or no notice.
- Other duties as assigned by Executive.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum College Diploma and/or equivalent experience in airline management.
- Minimum 5 years previous airline operations/training experience.
- Must have valid driver’s license with clean abstract.
- Must have clean criminal record check available.
- Must have current Airport Restricted Area Pass (RAIC).
- Ability to speak, write and understand the English language.
- Must have excellent team player competencies.
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision, and/or in a team environment

working varied hours and on call.
- Must be willing to travel to TTT sessions and professional development courses.
- Must be willing to adapt to the changing nature of aviation.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to communicate all concerns to senior management.
- Must maintain a professional and experienced level of service with all Maintair

customers.
- Solid understanding of Google for Business, Microsoft Office, Windows, and

Proprietary computer programs (Bamboo, Aerostudies and more).
- Excellent keyboarding and admin skills are essential.
- Prior classroom and online training experiences are an asset.
- Must have excellent operational skills.
