**Essential Duties**:
**Business Development**:

- Identify, develop, manage, and implement business strategies and initiatives to increase revenue, achieve business targets, acquire new relationships, and expand existing relationships within Kitchener-Waterloo and the surrounding region.

**Financial Management**:

- Accountable for the regional operating and financial results as per the St. John Ambulance Ontario’s approved annual operations plan and budget.

**Operational Management**:

- Oversee business development, financial management, resources and facility management, and employee management/performance. Training administration/delivery and support to community and charitable activities. Provides oversight of policy compliance, insurance, and risk related compliance, working collaboratively with those responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures for volunteers, instructors, and employees.

**Human Resources**:

- In collaboration with St. John Ambulance Ontario’s Human Resources Department, performance manage employees and instructors regionally.

**Community and Volunteer Relations**:

- Collaborate with volunteer SJA Branch Advisory Board(s) capitalizing on their knowledge and expertise as community-oriented advisors, while providing operational leadership support to the charitable/community services activities regionally. These leadership support activities may include community relations, fund development, volunteer/community services operations, and recognition activities.

**Other**:

- Parameters of the role will require occasional emergency response, weekend, and after-hours work.
- Approximately 30-50% of time will be spent traveling within the Kitchener-Waterloo and the surrounding region.
- The above duties reflect the general details considered necessary to complete the job and are not a detailed description of all the work requirements that might be inherent in the job.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE**:

- Undergraduate or graduate degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience working in Business Management).
- Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to non-profit organization.
- Strong relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated financial management experience.
- Business (proposal) writing is an asset.
- Experience in working with an advisory Board.
- Demonstrated hands-on individual capable of working at multiple levels depending on the needs of the regional branch.
