**JOB PURPOSE**

The Solutions Learning Centre (SLC) Skills Development Team provides learning opportunities to help adults develop skills to reach their full potential. The Personal Development and Employment Facilitator is responsible for the delivery of adult skill development programs that engage learners in such areas as employability; health and wellness; confidence building and digital literacy.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Utilize a variety of interactive and engaging learning tools to foster skill development while meeting the diverse needs of participants;
- Provide assessment of individual participant needs, and develop personalized learning plans enabling the identification of potential barriers to success, and creation of action plans in partnership with the participant;
- Using the Employability Skills Assessment Tool (ESAT), identify gaps in learning and provide on-going constructive feedback to participants, offering strategies for improvement to ideally master key employability skills;
- Act as a support and advocate for participants; motivate learners and provide support in career exploration;
- Follow curriculum outcomes and indicators to provide a solid assessment of progress and identification of potential barriers;
- Assess need for work placement readiness, monitor placements and provide job support as needed;
- Complete reports as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS**
- Completion of post-secondary education in a related field or combination of skills, education and experience;
- Proficient facilitation skills utilizing Adult Principles of Learning;
- Experience working with adults with varied learning abilities;
- Excellent inter-personal, communication skills and problem solving skills;
- Demonstrated skills as an innovative thinker and problem solver who is open to new challenges and learning new things;
- Ability to influence and motivate program participants to engage in learning opportunities;
- Ability to interact with people of all ages, cultural backgrounds and diverse life experiences with sensitivity, compassion, and patience;
- Superior level of ethical behaviour, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment;
- Able to take initiative and perform with mínimal supervision.
