**Berwick by the Sea** retirement community is looking for a **Community Ambassador** who is reliable, authentic, and excited to make a difference in the lives of people. **Schedule**:
**Position 1**:This position is Sunday to Tuesday, 10:00am - 6:00pm, for a total of 24 hours weekly. This position is temporary.

**Position 2**:This position is Wednesday to Saturday, 10:00am - 6:00pm, for a total of 32 hours weekly. This position is temporary.

**Pay**:
Starting Wage is **$23.38** per hour (Includes provincial wage subsidy) plus shift differentials as applicable.

**Position Summary**:
Under the supervision of the General Manager, the Community Ambassador ensures that all guests and visitors are screened per the Health Authority guidelines. In addition, they may assist with a variety of tasks within the residence, and may be assigned primarily in one area based upon operational requirements. The Community Ambassador may be assigned to duties in areas of administrative support/reception, housekeeping, laundry, active living, light maintenance, food services support, or services for BRIO, ELS or independent residents. The Community Ambassador carries out duties in an efficient, informative, friendly and courteous manner and demonstrates a respectful and caring approach to Berwick residents and staff. This position is responsible for “Emergency Response” for the building and its occupants.

**Qualification & Competencies**:

- Related experience with preference given to those with 1-2 years of experience in the senior/living hospitality industry
- A valid class 4 or 5 driver’s license and asset
- WHMIS Certification
- Valid Emergency First Aid and CPR with AED training
- Ability to share and conduct screening duties in alignment with Provincial guidelines
- Medication Administration Certificate would be an asset
- Comfortable handling emergency situations such as power outages, fire, earthquake and medical emergencies
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of the intent, philosophy, and core values of assisted living when planning and delivering personal service and hospitality services
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions with mínimal supervision
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understands verbal and written instructions
- Polite, courteous and must work well with seniors
- Must have knowledge, skills and training on how to manage and respond to potential harassment in the workplace (verbal, physical and sexual).

Note: *A criminal record check is required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable adults. Current TB test and proof of Covid-19 Vaccination also required.
