**JOB OVERVIEW**

The Centre Linguistique del Cégep de Jonquière is excited to host its annual Explore Ottawa program this summer. Explore Ottawa is an intensive, three-week-long English language program for youth aged 13-15 from Quebec. In 2024 we are running two sessions, **from June 24th to August 9th**. The incumbent of this position will be present to follow up with students who may present personal or emotional difficulties as part of this English Summer Immersion program.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Facilitate student meetings as needed, creating a safe, confidential and caring environment
- Meet students with personal or emotional difficulties (including homesickness, difficulties integrating into the program, etc.) and follow up with them to ensure they have been resolved.
- Intervene in a crisis
- Follow up with parents regarding the progress of their children.
- Propose intervention procedures for crisis management
- Plan and guide team building activities with students and staff.
- Participate in Explore management/team meetings as needed
- Be available to answer emergency calls from students after 5 PM on a rotational basis.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Hold or be in the process of obtaining a degree in a psychosocial field.
- 1 year relevant and related experience
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, communication skills, teamwork skills, organizational skills
- Bilingual in English and French
- Able to work weekdays from June 24 to August 9 and the first Sunday of each session (June 30 and July 21).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 7 weeks

**Salary**: $23.00 per hour
