We have one permanent full time position available.

**SUMMARY**:
To provide guidance and leadership under the direction of the Security Manager to security guards on their shift, ensuring the security of Century Downs assets, the Century Downs facilities, employees and guests. Security supervisors will ensure that all members of the security team consistently, diplomatically, and professionally maintain good relations with patrons, as well as fellow staff and see to it that all duties are successfully completed in accordance with Alberta Gaming and Liquor commission terms and conditions, operating guidelines and Century Downs policy and procedures. Security Supervisors will act in compliance with local, provincial, and federal laws and also act in compliance with Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission laws and regulations.

- **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Within the realm of the responsibility of the job, maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs duties in compliance with safety procedures, which include the use of safety equipment. Incumbents are responsible for following safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices or conditions and informing their Assistant Security Manager or the Safety Committee of unsafe conditions, as directed.
- Executes assigned duties in a positive and professional manner in accordance with Century Downs terms and conditions, operating guidelines and established policies as per the security policy and procedures manual.
- Aides in the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment by adhering to established Century Downs protocols.
- Provides direction and guidance to incumbents in compliance with safety procedures including identifying unsafe practices or conditions and informing the Assistant Security Manager of any noted unsafe issues or practices as directed.
- Provides prompt, courteous and friendly service to patrons, fellow employees and ensures all under supervision meet the same standards of expectation in regards to customer service.
- Acts as an immediate public affairs representative for Century Downs.
- Ensures team members are knowledgeable in policy and procedures, orientation materials and internal security memorandums and relevant sections of racing entertainment centers terms and conditions and operating guidelines by assisting in the development of subordinates and providing the assistant manager with current evaluations and feedback.
- Escorts the transfers of money/assets throughout the racing entertainment center on a frequent basis ensuring that all monies are safeguarded in accordance with all policies.
- Ensures only authorized personnel gain access to restricted areas including bank, slot cages, offices and count rooms, with or without an escort as needed.
- Leads investigations of occurrences by interviewing witnesses on incidents that occur, pursuant to policy and procedures manual by asking questions, taking and analyzing statements, securing and reporting evidence as directed and making accurate records that are then to be documented accordingly.
- Liaises with senior management, the General Manager, slot managers and Shift Managers, providing advice and assistance as needed.
- Demonstrates knowledge concerning key storage, usage and the assigning of keys to appropriate individuals.
- Leads staff in responding to and providing emergency crowd control in specified situations within the facility pursuant to the Century Downs terms and conditions, operating guidelines and the security policy and procedures manual.
- Acts to minimize risks to guests, staff and fellow team members.
- Ensures that hourly patron counts, parking patrols and counts are done when required as per the policy and procedures manual.
- Provides written discrepancy and infraction reports and reports violations of security policies and procedures as required.
- Offers assistance to and liaises with local police service and gaming authorities regarding calls for service and for any serious occurrences at Century Downs by offering aid in investigations when required.
- Patrols the property as directed to ensure the safety and security of patrons and employees and for compliance of security policy and procedures.
- Ensures opening and securing of safes as needed.
- Assists the Assistant Security Manager and other supervisors in scheduling shifts, employee evaluations and special projects as needed.
- Notifies monitor personnel of any unusual or irregular activities taking place on the Century Downs property.
- Have an understanding in the use of surveillance equipment and its operation in the case of an emergency.
