**GFL Environmental** is looking for an** Operations Supervisor** to join Western Canada’s largest and newest **MRF Facility in Calgary, AB**

The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for developing a thorough understanding of the Company’s transportation Requirements: and patterns. They will review and process day-to-day operations, evaluate and recommend equipment needs, and plan and schedule appropriate service lines to maintain a cost-effective balance between customer service and cost of service. They will ensure compliance with all government related programs specific to mode and direction of related haulage.

**Requirements**:

- Valid driver's license with a clean drivers abstract.
- Proven experience as a production supervisor or a similar role in a manufacturing setting.
- General understanding of WHMIS.
- Previous operations, transportation, waste management experience in a production or plant environment preferred.
- Proficient with database, spreadsheet, and word processing computer skills within a Microsoft environment.
- Willing to work flexible hours with some travel.
- Recruit, interview, hire, train and discipline all product line personnel.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Direct supervision of all MRF staff, ensuring ongoing training requirements, discipline, and procedural implementation.
- Assist with and recommend annual equipment budget; implement and monitor the budget within approved limits.
- Conduct regular MRF staff reviews and mandatory route-rides.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Promote the companies safety program that seeks to prevent accidents, avoid injuries, and recognize safe employees.
- Maintain inventory of all necessary supplies and products required for service which may include sourcing multiple vendors or alternate supply chains.
- Direct communication with other departments to ensure proper ongoing service.

- Ensure company policy, systems, and industry related training is delivered to all facility staff.
- Perform inspections to ensure safety and quality standards
- Resolve all internal service issues in a cost effective and expeditious manner; all customer service issues to be reported internally in a timely, organized manner with details on how the issue(s) will be resolved.
- Performing inspections to ensure safety and quality standards.
- Maintaining records on workers’ hours, wages, and other employment data.
- Approving all payroll and scheduling workers’ shifts and ensuring that they can complete their tasks within these time constraints.
- Identifying and implementing ways to improve production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Checking the quality and quantity of the output and resolving any issues or problems.

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:

- Knowledge of the production processes, machinery, tools and quality standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
- Excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills
- Ability to motivate, coach and manage a diverse team of workers.
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
