**Who we are looking for**:
We are looking for a supervisor to lead our sub-assembly department. The right person for this job is an experienced leader with mechanical aptitude, and someone who is excited by the challenges of a fast-paced custom manufacturing environment.

**Responsibilities**:
**Overview**:
- Create and maintain a safe and fulfilling work environment for employees and coordinate departmental activity to ensure quality standards and schedules are met with maximum efficiency.
- Directly lead a team of people who are responsible for:
- Manufacturing welded and riveted sheet metal support frames
- Assembling heat exchangers
- Manufacturing air hoods and louvres
- Manufacturing doors and access covers for air handlers
- Assembling welded structural steel gantry systems
- Preparing and assembling steel, copper and plastic piping components
**Team/Safety related**:
- Coordinate weekly and daily activity in the department, providing instructions that are in accordance with company policy.
- Develop employee skillsets with training and experience
- Plan and oversee employee career development
- Conduct performance reviews
- Participate in hiring decisions
- Identify and promptly address safety risks
- Uphold company policy and procedure.
- Maintain and improve team cohesion and morale
- Assign wages and raises for department employees
**Quality/Delivery related**:
- Review output quality to ensure quality standards are consistently being upheld
- Ensure department is maintaining pace relative to the production schedule
- Provide feedback and coach/support employees to ensure quality standards are met
- Communicate with Quality Assurance to make iterative improvements to standard operating procedures and quality standards.
- Communicate and coordinate with the production manager, other supervisors, and lead hands to schedule work for best plant efficiency.
- Coordinate tools and materials for production employees

Education and Work Experience
- 5-10 years of experience leading a team, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- At least 3 years of manufacturing experience
- Post-secondary education in mechanical, or manufacturing fields
- Formal leadership training is an asset
