We are looking for a motivated Financial Coordinator to join our Migrant Workers Program team

**POSITION FUNCTION**:
The **Financial Coordinator **works closely with the Manager to evaluate funder contracts/subcontracts, perform financial monitors as well as provide accounting, billing, and clerical support to the program according to established procedures. The position works with internal, community, agency, and funding partners.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in education and/or work experience in the fields of business management, finance, or accounting.
- Knowledge of financial management, bookkeeping, administration, and/or basic accounting principles.
- Ability to incorporate data-use and financial analysis in decision-making.
- Ability to work independently.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Facility and accuracy with numbers.
- Knowledge of MS Office suite, database software, accounting software.
- Organized and able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Tactful, discrete, diplomatic, patient, flexible.
- Project management experience an asset.
- Previous experience in an accounting, administrative, or clerical support position in addition to relevant training/education; experience in the not-for-profit sector an asset.
- Experience in financial monitoring preferred and/or having worked in a team that performs audits.
- Current, satisfactory Criminal Record Check if required by policy, law and/or employment contract

**DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Be familiar with MOSAIC’s vision, mission, values, strategic plan, and integrated client service delivery approach, program and/or project proposals and contracts, and in your role in achieving the goals and contractual outcomes of the department.
- Coordinate and implement deliverables stipulated in contracts; inform manager of achievement of contractual outcomes for the program, project, or service; prepare regular reports for the manager on the achievement of quality standards.
- Applies accounting principles as well as knowledge of internal accounting procedures and practices to accurately assess information and determine required action to be taken in resolving relevant problems and generating desired results.
- Maintain financial reporting systems as needed (e.g. CRM, SCI).
- Ensure collection and preparation of project information in a format suitable for submission to department management, funders, consultants, and partners.
- Ensure development and maintenance of systems, procedures, and practice standards for the program.
- Responds to external financial requests and inquiries from funders.
- Liaise between program and finance staff.
- Participate in partnership, departmental, all-staff, and relevant industry meetings, in-service training, and other training.
- Prepare statistical reports for internal planning purposes.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager or senior manager.

**HOURS**:
Part time, 21 hrs per week
