St. George’s School has an opportunity for an experienced and energized teacher to assume the role of the Theatre Technical Coordinator. This full-time position will play a role in ensuring the smooth running of the Theatre’s day-to-day operations. The Technical Coordinator’s schedule aligns with the production schedule and will include some long shifts and the occasional evenings and weekends.

**Responsibilities will include**:
Overall responsibility for the infrastructure of the 422-seat facility.
Teaching stagecraft to students (Theatre production) by delivering the BC curriculum at.4 FTE (two blocks).
Responsible for preparing production and build schedules, and all technical support of each production and certain school events, including set construction, lighting, sound, properties, rigging and special effects. Supervisory role in the collection, construction and storage of properties.
Designing audio, lighting and sets for productions.
Organizing, in collaboration with the Head of Theatre and drama teachers, material and hardware acquisition, carpentry, set pieces, crew scheduling, tool and equipment training, tool assignment, maintenance and storage.
Responsible for ensuring safety systems and safe operating procedures are followed at all times for lifts, ladders and scaffolding, and coordinating maintenance of all equipment/props.
Ensuring all theatre bookings are tracked online; provides supervision and instruction of all groups using the theatre facilities.
Ensures all evening events and productions in the auditorium are adequately staffed and crewed with students.
Hiring additional external support for productions (e.g. Vocal coach, costume designer, etc.).
Coordination and communication with Head of Theatre with regards to activities, space, facilities and budget.
Responsible for the inventory of all theatre technical equipment and props, and works with Head of Theatre regarding the maintenance of inventory within the designated budget.
AV: Operation and control of projector and sources used for projectors. Provide support for the wide variety of presentations that occur in the school.
Troubleshoot auditorium technical issues.
Providing detailed scheduling for, and liaising with other schools when involved in productions.
Assisting with auditions and participating in casting decisions.
**Production specific duties include**: securing performing rights, ordering scripts, creating show budgets, overseeing the box office, ticket sales, parent volunteers, student staff, and Front of House Ushers for all productions, creating show posters and organizing the programs for each production, and overseeing property and costume management, including the sourcing of all props.
**Qualifications will include**:
Minimum 3-5 years working in a technical coordinator capacity.
Expertise with all lighting requirements including ongoing maintenance and direct experience with a digital control board. Expertise with modern digital sound console, patch and routing systems of sound signals throughout the facility.
Experience in building sets and properties.
Familiarity with costume care and storage.
Understands the pressures of production schedules and possesses ability to work with diverse user groups. Ability to problem solve with others and anticipate the demands of a production.

Bachelor's Degree in Theatre production or equivalent.
Scissor Lift certification.
