Postdoctoral Scholar in Geomechanics and Seismology

**Salary**: $55,000 CAD per annum, plus University of Calgary Plan C health benefits
The Consortium for Distributed and Passive Sensing (C-DaPS) is a joint project hosted by the University of Calgary and the University of Alberta. The focus areas of C-DaPS cover microseismic monitoring, geomechanics, structural geology, induced seismicity, DAS, data processing, machine learning and InSAR. CDaPS has a proven track record of strategic, world-class research, award-winning training and success in finding creative solutions to some of the most daunting challenges faced by the energy industry.
**Qualifications**:
- PhD completed within 3 years of the beginning of the appointment; if degree is still pending it must be awarded before August 31, 2024.
- Knowledge of and experience with geomechanics.
- Knowledge of and experience with numerical simulation of subsurface processes.
- Knowledge of and experience with seismology is an asset.
- Excellent organization skills, including the ability to work independently and to multitask.
- Excellent attention to detail is a must.
- High level of effective time management, personal initiative, and teamwork.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills is essential, including evidence of first author publications.
- Strong team skills as this position will have a high degree of interaction/contact with industry professionals.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional attitude.
- Ability to thrive and deliver results in a fast-paced team environment.
