**Job Summary**
- The Dalhousie Human Resources Department is committed to a vision where employees are engaged, supported, and inspired to achieve excellence at Dalhousie University. Reporting to the Director, Academic Staff Relations, the Manager will provide innovative consultation and leadership in support the strategic direction of the university as it relates to academic staff relations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Advise faculty administrators, heads/chairs/directors, and senior leadership on academic collective agreements (Dalhousie Faculty Association, Canadian Union of Public Employees and Public Service Alliance of Canada), University policies and procedures, and applicable legislation, and ensure compliance.
- Implement and authorize on behalf of the Provost the salary provisions specified in the academic collective agreements. This includes preparing and annual salary adjustments for regular academic staff as well as for individual salary changes, providing advice and ensuring compliance with all collective agreements.
- Serve as an employer representative on the labour management committees for each of the academic bargaining units. Participate in academic collective bargaining as a member of the Board’s negotiating team and provide analysis as required.
- Support the Director in building and maintaining positive and productive relationships with the university’s academic unions.
- Manage and coordinate the collection, maintenance and reporting of academic data, and supervise the Academic Staff Relations Data Coordinator.

**Note**
- The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

**Required Qualifications**
- Undergraduate in a related field such as Business Administrator or Human Resources administration with significant progressive experience in employee and labour relations (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Must have demonstrated generalist experience in labour and employment matters and an understanding of academic recruitment, academic appointments and academic salary administration.
- Must have demonstrated strong leadership and collaboration skills with the proven ability to

- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in a unionized environment.
