The primary focus of this position is to assist the Manager Customs Agent with the daily tasks. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and ability to identify and resolve issues. This position will primarily be responsible for maintaining and supporting the company’s customs processes.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS SUMMARY**

**Customs Team Lead (Compliance Activities)/Tasks**

Perform import compliance audits on the Winnipeg operation, including:

- Verifying declared values on inter-company purchases against current transfer price list
- Verifying accuracy of declared HS codes
- Analyzing data for deficiencies in controls, lack of compliance
- Implementing corrective actions (e.g. amending customs entries) and improving internal controls to ensure future compliance
- Provide regular feedback to Manager on reviews performed with clear documentation

Compliance projects:

- Assist with customs audit reviews conducted by government authorities.
- Assist with developing and implementing internal processes to identify and recover Customs Duties and Taxes paid in error due to incorrect B3 information submitted to CBSA. (post-audit correction)
- Assist with special projects, including analyzing business transactions and documents for customs implications, and related research.
- Manage the CUSMA tracking and updating the database
- Support with the registration of the clients onto the CARM portal.

Pre-release requirements:

- Back up for customs agents (keying entries, assigning workload, training)
- Manage the LVS workload (including, rating, completing of entries and ensuring items are ready for consol).
- Afterhours and weekend on call rotation.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- College or University degree
- CCS designation an asset.
- 3 years in Supply Chain field, with emphasis on customs compliance, preferably in the Customs Clearance industry with a Licensed Customs Broker/House
- Ability to work in ever-changing environment with little supervision and be pro-active in identifying problem situations and developing solutions.
- Attention to detail, ability to demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities.
- Must have strong analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate level Excel knowledge - for example, Vlookup function and pivot tables
- Familiarity with Other Government Agencies websites such CBSA, CBP, CFIA, FDA, Global Affairs Canada.
