**Business Administrator**

Ottawa StoryTellers (OST), a small artistic cooperative and one of Canada’s most enduring and active storytelling organizations, is looking for someone to balance the books and sell the shows, someone who will contribute their business skills to the arts in a meaningful way

**What You’ll Do**:
Financial: Carry out bookkeeping tasks i.e., receive monies, issue payments, make deposits. Prepare and file HST, payroll taxes, and T4’s. Provide financial data for grant proposals and other financial data as required; make monthly financial reports for the Board and annual report for the AGM; and create and manage budgets. Work with the auditors on annual financial statements. Prepare and file the Annual Charities Report. Manage membership renewals.

Fundraising**:Take the lead on the annual fundraising and write grants and reports.

Event management: Oversee the logistics of events. Manage ticket sales. Make filming arrangements. Support volunteer program coordinators and hosts. With Artistic Manager: negotiate contracts with venues and performers, oversee travel and accommodation for out-of-town performers, develop and maintain relationships with OST event venues.

**Required skills**
- ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines
- experience in bookkeeping
- a high level of computer literacy, especially Excel
- a solid working knowledge of social media platforms, design programs (e.g. Canva), and website management
- an ability to produce compelling promotional materials
- excellent writing skills in English

**Job Type**: part time, 4 days/week, some weekends and evenings, 1600 hours/year, approximately 32 hours/week, flexible hours

**Pay**:$26/hr.
