York Surgical / York Medical is a multidisciplinary medical centre looking for Clinical Assistants who are qualified International Medical Graduates.

Our services include interventional chronic pain, infusion clinic and a multidisciplinary surgical centre.

**Your Role**:
The Clinical Assistant (CA) will work with the physician and staff in **one or more** of the following roles:

- Interventional pain clinic - providing nursing support
- Infusion clinic - running the clinic including starting of IVs
- Surgical Centre - OR, recovery room or pre-op assessments

The CA will work under the direct and ongoing supervision of the physician and a Nurse Manager. Their responsibilities may vary depending on the specific needs of the patient, the skills of the CA and the judgement of the physician.

Other specific duties will be assigned as the relationship evolves.
- Direct Patient care - interviewing patient / history and physical
- Medical Documentation - patient record, referrals
- Review of medical record and results as they become available
- Communication with patient, families, supervising physician, allied health

**Skills Required**:

- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Team player with maturity in dealing with all contacts, providing a high level of customer service
- Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude that will contribute to building a positive work environment
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Confidence to work with mínimal supervision
- Committed and reliable with regards to attendance and punctuality.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Demonstrates professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Is enthusiastic about their work and is respectful of others. Works effectively in a team and independently.
- Passionate about personal learning, training and ongoing development.

**Qualifications**:

- **MD or MMBS degree (foreign graduate)**:

- **Completion of one of MCCEE, USMLE Step 1 or NAC OSCE or equivalent.**:

- Recent medical experience (within the last 5 years) is mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken, written, reading).
- Proficient in the use of computers, previous EMR experience an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
