**Financial Controller**
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is responsible for developing and directing the management of 3 members as well as working closely with finance managers. You will ensure complete and accurate monthly financial statements and quarterly/annual note disclosures in accordance with the DLL Accounting policy (IFRS) on a timely basis. You will work with tax advisors and also manage tax positions. You will lead various internal and/or external financial and income tax audits. Additionally, you will maintain a strong internal control environment to ensure all Risk Control Framework and Segregation of Duties controls are properly adhered to and meet DLL requirements. Approval of daily disbursements made by the company, ensuring proper coding and documentation support is expected. There is a focus on building the finance function of the future and promoting a leading service delivery model.

**Day to Day**
An essential aspect of the role is to pursue and promote a growth mind-set as DLL moves to a culture of innovation.***
- Manage month-end close process and discuss monthly results with CFO prior to monthly close. This includes variance analysis on Balance Sheet and P&L items and identify concerning areas.
- Prepare and submit financial statements for all legal entities in accordance with DLL Accounting Policies (IFRS) and ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises) requirements to Corporate Centre within 4 business days.
- Review quarterly/annual financial statement disclosures on a timely basis to Corporate Centre.
- Designated system owner of General Ledger including financial and tax reporting, account maintenance and classification to align with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
- Meet DLL Month End Close Program and approve account reconciliations which meet DLL standards.
- Understand local tax reporting requirements and deadlines. Provide complete and accurate tax information to tax advisor for tax reporting. Compile the tax reporting schedules and understand tax accounting positions and processes.
- Prepare all financial reporting, quarterly/annual note disclosures, annual statements, and other management information. Oversee the daily operation and administration of the Finance Department ensuring that all milestones, key performance objectives and reporting timelines are met (30%).
- Plan and prepare corporate tax reporting as required by local tax legislation. Lead tax audits (30%).
- Lead local finance internal and external audits. Participate as a finance leader to meet the Risk Control Framework and Segregation of Duties initiatives and audits (15%).
- Provide guidance, coaching, development, and training team members (15%).
- Improve Department/company’s system and financial reporting processes (10%).

**Essentials**
- Bachelor’s degree, advanced accounting qualifications, CPA, CA/CMA preferred
- 5 to 7 years of finance industry experience in particular strong understanding of lease accounting, IFRS and controls are preferred
- Working knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics and HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) for financial reporting would be an asset
- Working knowledge of corporate income tax reporting
- Excellent managerial and leadership skills including coaching, mentoring, developing, and training individuals to enhance performance
- Strong analytical and organization skills required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Energetic, pro-active, results-oriented, decision-maker
- Well-developed problem-solving, execution and implementation skills
- Works well independently and in a team environment
