**LOCATION**: A hybrid agreement in one of the STEPS regional offices (Nanaimo, Surrey, Kamloops, Cranbrook, Fort St. John, or Prince George BC.)

**About the Opportunity**
Reporting to the Provincial Cohort Manager, the primary purpose of the Cultural Coordinator is to provide cultural support and special learning opportunities to our Métis clients accessing resources and services within our provincial cohorts and across our regions. The Cultural Coordinator will work to enhance the knowledge transmission and awareness of Métis heritage and culture in BC through the development and delivery of educational resources, workshops, gatherings and extended cultural supports for clients. Integrating cultural learning and support into the STEPS services and resources it provides, will only
optimize client’s experience.

**KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop and support the facilitation of complimentary and relevant learning, i.e. workshops, to support Métis heritage and culture knowledge sharing for STEPS provincial cohorts.
- Provide cultural support and guidance to STEPS clients as needed.
- Collaborate with STEPS regional staff and provincial Employment Coordinators to identify client cultural needs.
- Conduct research and develop Métis cultural resources for clients.
- Liaise with the Ministry of Culture, Heritage, and Language (MCHL) staff, creating pathways for collaboration.
- In collaboration with the MCHL, liaise and communicate with Métis knowledge carriers and Elders to coordinate and procure services for Ministry programs and initiatives.
- In collaboration with the MCHL, assist with developing relationships with funders and gathering information for proposals and funding opportunities that focus on Métis arts and culture programs for Métis citizens.
- Facilitate and attend professional learning opportunities to share knowledge about Métis culture and heritage.
- Coordinate the implementation of surveys, resources and materials, including integrating online tools to increase access for those Métis people living in remote and rural areas of BC.
- Collaborate with regional offices, supporting the coordination of community events and gatherings.
- Oversee the development of promotional materials and marketing for project initiatives and events.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Note**: A combination of relevant experience, education, and training will be considered.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Indigenous Studies, Cultural Studies, Social Work, History or other relevant areas of study.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in teaching or educational resource and/curriculum development role.
- Minimum of (2) years’ of experience facilitating workshops or delivering presentations.
