Respite Caregivers are contractors who work in the City of Vancouver. They provide a break to parents of individuals with developmental disabilities and a fun, safe and supervised outing/activity for the individual. Schedules are based on the caregiver's availability and the family's needs, but usually entail a 3-6 hour long outing on a weekday or weekend day or about 3 hours once or twice a week.
Caregivers are required to have a clear criminal record, an Emergency First Aid with CPR certification, references and some training or experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
**We are currently hiring a caregiver for a gentleman with Down syndrome who lives in East Vancouver. He requires assistance to attend Special Olympics activities in Vancouver and Burnaby. Summer schedule is Wednesdays from 3 pm to 7 pm. Fall schedule is Mondays and Thursdays, 3 pm to 7 pm.**

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 3-6 per week
**Salary**: $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Weekday afternoons
COVID-19 considerations:
Caregivers are required to wash hands frequently during work. Masks may be required at family’s request. Caregivers may also be requested to declare (and provide proof if needed) their C-19 vaccination status.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 - 6 per week
