**Opportunity**:
Cases range from seeing a family one or two times per week for 8 to 12 weeks.

**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Family Preservation and Support Services Programs and Services Manager, this team member will be responsible for the following functions:

- Conducting and completing detailed assessments for clients referred from multiple agency streams.
- Assessing, screening, referring, and linking individuals to internal and community resources as needed.
- Compiling and gathering collateral information.
- Participating in integrative case management meetings as needed to determine outcomes for individuals referred to the Agency.
- Consulting with the Ministry for Children and Family Development to co-ordinate and deliver services as needed.
- Communicating and coordinating relevant client information with agency staff across departments.
- Attend as-needed weekly meetings for the intake, transition, and discharge of quick response clients.
- Provide interventions and brief counselling supports to individuals experiencing crisis.
- Provide a quick response to urgent situations that arise for clients over evenings and weekends as needed.
- Linking individuals with urgent needs to immediate resources (i.e. securing food resources, financial assistance, and housing).
- Developing and delivering family-parent support education groups.
- Schedule, supervise, and report parent-child interactions in a safe, secure, and supportive environment.
- Provide coaching, modelling, and education within supervised access settings.
- Provide consistent and safe transportation services for children and youth who may have behavioral challenges and developmental disabilities.
- Enable children and families to promote, strengthen, and nurture appropriate, positive relationships with one another.
- Report all parent-child interactions for safety and appropriateness.
- Set up visit space with age appropriate activates, mindful of the child’s development stage.
- Assess and intervene during visits should any safety concerns arise.
- Effectively communicate with family members and social workers.
- Provide timely reports and be prepared to testify about this in court, if necessary.
- Maintain files in accordance with the accreditation standards.
- Work with families with diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Work with at-risk and marginalized families within the community.
- This position involves flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays to accommodate the needs of clients, as well as covering when staff are off.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Skills You Bring**:

- 3 years’ experience or relevant B.A. with 3 years’ experience in family preservation/ reunification preferred.
- Experience working with families who may present multiple service needs related to poverty, addictions, violence, child abuse or neglect, and mental health issues.
- Strong counselling, program planning, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of child development, positive parenting, and family dynamics.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and ability to manage conflict.
- Flexible in working from home or in the office.
- Ability to pick up essential items for clients and drop them off.
- An understanding of integrated case management.
- Computer proficiency - MS Office, ERP/CRM software systems (e.g. Sohema).
- Bilingual or multilingual preferred.

**Requirements**:

- Relevant M.A. degree (i.e., Social Services, Counselling Psychology) an asset.
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR & AED Level C certificate.
- Valid Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record and use of own vehicle.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
