**Your opportunity**:
The Facilities Management and Space Planning office manages a complex set of facilities for the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, on campus and off - and is responsible for consultation, planning, design and implementation of sophisticated, complicated projects for highly specialized research and academic needs.

As a Project Coordinator, you will collaborate with and support our team of Architects and Engineers and work in close partnership with our University counterparts in Project Development, Facilities and Services and Project Management. You will coordinate small and medium sized projects, including preparing documents, drawings, renderings and product selection presentations for clients and procurement. Your exceptional drawing and illustration skills, design acumen and creative thinking will enable you to assist in the realization of complex projects and help us fulfill time-sensitive goals and objectives. You will serve as an expert of furniture.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Developing construction-related master specifications and preparing technical specifications to be issued for tendering
- Planning and creating interior layouts and furnishings for capital projects
- Developing viable design solutions and artistic renderings
- Analyzing tender submissions and maintaining a list of bidding contractors
- Selecting consultants and contractors for work of construction projects
- Conducting site visits and final inspection of work completed by contractors

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in Architectural Technology/Interior Design or an acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
- 6-7 years interior design experience, coordinating capital projects with an emphasis on designing layouts, assessing user needs, and selecting furniture through to installation, move-in and deficiency follow up
- Experience assessing academic spaces and laboratory equipment/layout
- Demonstrated experiencepreparing artistic renderings and CAD drawings and producing reports and presentations
- Experience conducting site visits and conducting final inspections
- Excellent knowledge of building codes
- Expert level proficiency with AutoCAD
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office 365
- Strong drawing, design acumen and creativity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent client service and people skills with an ability to gain consensus on technical and design issues
- Ability to work independently as well as a collaborative team player
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to work accurately and effectively under the pressure of conflicting deadlines and changing project priorities

**Assets (Nonessential)**:

- Experience with space planning including the Council of Ontario Universities space standards
- Expertise in other rendering software
