Quality Control Technician

**SUMMARY**:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for the daily coordination of all Quality Control activities on site. They attend daily meetings that are held and communicate with the Quality Control Manager, Project Managers, and Site Foremen. Quality Control Technicians require a broad knowledge of construction activities.
**Location**: Kingston, ON
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Setting up of quality control documentation and record keeping
- Ensure compliance with all facets of Quality Control including structures and foundations, asphalt, concrete, grading, granulars, and electrical
- Coordinate third party Quality Control testing and submit results to the client; liaise between Project Manager and client for general communication
- Assemble comprehensive submission lists
- Coordinating the testing of material
- Analyzing technical reports
- Preparing mix design submissions
- Ensuring work procedures and specifications are followed.
- Documenting and submitting non-conformance reports.
- Participate in weekly look-ahead meetings
- Conducting concrete tests and soil compaction tests with a nuclear densometer gauge
- Ensuring timely delivery of all samples to the applicable laboratories
- Training of junior QC staff
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:
- 2+ years of relative materials testing experience
- 2 year technical college diploma in civil, construction or geotechnical engineering, or equivalent work experience
**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
- A mixture of office and construction site conditions
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Exposure to all elements - summer heat, rain, etc
