The Operations Manager is a full-time position (35 hours/week) responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Royal Canadian Legion - Kitimat Branch, direct supervision of staff and contractors, and revenue generation. The incumbent will report directly to the House Chair.
- Ensure that the Branch lounge is staffed appropriately and properly functioning.
- Inventory control including: liquor and beer products, Lounge snacks, light meals and Lounge supplies and all cleaning supplies.
- New employees are provided with consistent onboarding using existing tools.
- Develop activities to increase lounge revenue including expanded entertainment options in connection with the Entertainment committee (eg. theme nights, sports tournaments, dinner nights) and other concepts to increase revenue opportunities for the Branch.
- Maintains total confidentially of Legion issues and discussions held with members of the executive, club members and staff at all times.
- Report to the House Chair any issues and work towards a resolution which must be approved prior to implementation of any changes.
- Manages all bookings for the upstairs hall and ensures that the facility upstairs is clean and ready for the rentals and cleaned after each usage.
- Organize and recruit volunteers for special events.
- Coordinate the building maintenance. Work with the Maintenance chair and volunteers to provide assistance in a cost effective manner. Manages the snow removal services contract during the winter months.
- Provide basic bookkeeping skills to summarize cash flow for our bookkeeping service.
- Must be bondable.
- Must have a vehicle and provide their drivers’ abstract
- Must have Serving it Right and Food Safe certificates. Lottery training will be provided.
- Supervisory experience along with previous experience in a lounge environment is preferred.
- Able to work in a fast paced environment and able to meet deadlines
- Provide high quality member service
- Effective interpersonal skills, flexible, accurate, dependable, reliable and organized.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
