**Job Summary**: The Strategic Partnerships Officer will be responsible for launching and implementing a new student-industry program to develop career-ready graduates for the energy sector. The position will plan, organize, and implement strategies to secure new corporate partners, increase the level of engagement and maximize the partners’ participation in the Student Enrichment Program. This position will develop and foster proactive, long-term relationships with these organizations and provide strategic insight and coordination into targeted, institutional stakeholder initiatives. It will also foster a culture of collaboration and partnership internally within the university to deliver on this external value proposition.

**Nature of work**:
Reporting to the Director, External Relations and Partnerships, this position specifically supports the launch and ongoing implementation of a new program to facilitate student-industry interactions throughout a student’s academic career. The position is within the Partnership Office, which reports up through the President’s Office. It will involve significant coordination with multiple internal university units and external partners

**Responsibilities/accountabilities**:

- ** **Plans, launches and implements a new program (Student Enrichment Program (SEP)) that facilitates student-industry interactions throughout a student’s academic career.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with identified external partners in order to maximize their participation in the Student Enrichment Program. Cultivates and stewards corporate partners’ interactions.
- Works collaboratively with internal Ontario Tech stakeholders (Faculty, Career Centre, student groups, Registrar’s Office, Brilliant Catalyst and others) to develop and implement engagement opportunities for students and external partners.
- Keeps abreast of internal university service offerings and programs in order to provide customized solutions to partners.
- Actively markets and promotes the program to students at all phases of a student’s academic career - from recruitment to graduation.
- Develops communications and marketing material to promote the program - including social media, web site maintenance, banners, web stories, etc. Oversees program web pages to ensure currency and relevance to external and internal audiences.
- Coordinates an annual community of practice meeting with partner HR contacts.
- Monitors and tracks corporate activities to anticipate challenges and opportunities with Strategic partners.
- Works with supervisor to develop tracking mechanisms for the program from both a partner and student perspective.
- Works with supervisor to develop a badge for the Student Enrichment Program, including the required validation and approval processes.
- Serves as liaison and strategist for corporate relations and partnership development opportunities as identified through Partnership Office. Interprets corporate interests and identifies trends for university constituencies.
- Creates and delivers content e.g., key messages and presentations to internal and external stakeholders that promote the program to relevant stakeholders.
- Draft annual report to funders including external partners, as well as internal audiences, highlighting key metrics and deliverables.

**Required Skills**:

- Dependable, resourceful and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate individuals.
Strong political acumen with the ability to promote positive stakeholder relations.
- Creative ability to solve problems, oversee challenges and provide recommendations for program improvements.
- Ability to work under pressure, juggle multiple priorities at a time and coordinate efforts among several groups of people.
- Must be willing to work some evening and weekends as well as travel to locations within Durham Region, Northumberland County and elsewhere in the GTA.

**Required Education**:

- A minimum four-year degree in communications, business, marketing or related disciplines or equivalent education.
