Project Officer - Labour Market Information & Skills Inventory

Thunder Bay, Ontario (Full Time Contract until March 31, 2025 possible 1 year extension)

You are sincere in your passion to assist in the development of a skilled Indigenous workforce, through the provision of individual and community-based employment and training initiatives. You have demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service skills and excel at embracing diversity while establishing rapport with clients. Your preferred post-secondary education in Business Marketing is complemented with related experience. Ideally, you have office experience and are proficient in using Microsoft Office Products.

Under the direction of the Executive Director and supervision of the Finance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the Labour Market Information and Skills Inventory program while working with staff, committees, stakeholders, participants, and potential participants under the guiding principles of the AETS vision, mission, values and strategic plan that serve the First Nation Citizens of the AETS nine member participating communities as well as other Indigenous Peoples. Responsibilities of this position will include but not limited to:
Working with Management to implement marketing strategies for Labour Market Information and Skills Inventory including:
Developing, maintaining and distribution of marketing and communication materials such as social media content, monthly newsletters, pamphlets/brochures, website announcements, promotional posters, invitations, LMI correspondence and mail while ensuring alignment with AETS brand standards.Creatively identifying marketing ideas, initiatives and models of delivery while working collaboratively with AETS FN Communities, AETS Staff and others to effectively identify the Labour Market and Skills Development needs of the communities.Integrating marketing strategies to effectively promote the requirements of the project preparation, community outreach and survey distribution, to secure interested and eligible participants.Attending and participating in events in Thunder Bay and AETS FN Communities to actively promote the program, attract participants and obtain the necessary information via previously developed surveys to foster success in the program.Endeavor to reach the targets of LMI and Skills Inventory Surveys critical in the successful continuation of the program and attaining more comprehensive and optimal data information.Ensure LMI and Skills Inventory Surveys are complete and accurate which may require client follow-up if necessary.Maintain LMI Database where all survey information is kept including the review and approval of surveys input online and the timely input of surveys completed manually.Work as a liaison between AETS and the delivery partners as well as networks to ensure delivery requirements are fulfilled.Monitor program progress throughout the duration of the delivery and provide analysis of data to ensure information collected improves the capacity for planning the most demanded education to training to employment programs and optimizes AETS’ leverage capacity for funding to offer those programs.Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for Management and AETS First Nations.Make recommendations for changes to delivery, systems, and procedures if necessary.Work in accordance with AETS Business Plan policies and procedures.Perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications: Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in Business Marketing/ Communications or Education or Social Science related disciplines preferred. Minimum of 3 years experience in Marketing/ Communications or Project Management or delivery of Labour Market Information programs or a combination of education & training. Experience working with Indigenous First Nation client’s and a client database.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to think strategically; a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook; knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Canva or other graphic design programs; understanding of communications, public relations, and marketing best practices.

A Valid Class G Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel necessary.

A criminal record check is mandatory upon hire.
