**Position Description**:
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will work cross-departmentally to coordinate and support the organization’s marketing, content, and communications needs.

This position requires an enthusiastic, independent, creative individual with a passion for science and learning and experience coordinating marketing for a multi-faceted organization.

Confidence and experience working in a high-energy, creative team are a must. This position requires flexibility in workload distribution across our annual cycle, typically connected to specific program cycles, special events or updates to our partners.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the marketing department's initiatives with the planning, executing, and tracking of marketing programs
- Work with the Editorial Manager and team to create and collaborate on results-driven content and communications initiatives
- Collaborate with the marketing and brand teams to develop ideas and coordinate execution
- Assist in the writing and editing of written, video, and photo social content
- Manage relationships with internal partners, external vendors, contractors, and content creators to ensure high-quality and timely execution of marketing and content programs
- Collaborate with Editorial Manager and marketing team to create a content calendar and workback schedules
- Manage website updates, including but not limited to event listings, page creation, updates, and alerts
- Perform other related duties as required to fulfill any changing business needs of this role

**Qualifications**:

- A related degree such as journalism, marketing, communications, science communications or equivalent work experience, ideally with a minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing
- Excellent writing skills and an ability to write for, and make content accessible to all levels of users
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a demanding work environment
- Attention to detail
- Ability to think broadly and make connections about program, exhibit and community-relevant content and activity
- Demonstrated dependability, reliability, flexibility, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a part of an energetic and creative team
- Strong ability to identify and take action to help where required, and to organize and prioritize tasks in a way that is most helpful to the larger goals of the organization
- Ability to build relationships across the organization
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), WordPress, content management systems, and social media platforms
