Description:
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students. This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of one of the following programs: a Master's degree in Psychology, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or a Master’s degree in Psychology. Full registration with a professional college under the Health Professions Act. Provisional registration not appropriate in this role. Authorization to Perform Restricted Psychosocial Interviews with the ACSW. 3 years’ experience in Mental Health care providing assessment and therapeutic intervention to patients with acute and/or chronic mental health disorders. At least 2 years’ experience in Geriatric Mental Health required. At least 2 years’ experience in Community Health Care required. Knowledge of Mental Health legislation. A demonstrated track record of developing effective relationships with diverse professionals required. Valid driver’s license and access to a car required. Group therapy experience required.
