**Overview**:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Vancouver Wharves office is recruiting for a Supervisor, Safety to join the team. This position reports to the Manager, Safety in the SSER Enterprise Risk & OMS Group, part of Pembina’s External Affairs Division.

The primary responsibility of the Supervisor, Safety is to work collaboratively to implement and manage proactive prevention initiatives to further improve performance and ensure compliance with regulatory, industry, and corporate standards.

**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Engage and collaborate with the Vancouver Wharves site leadership, internal Safety and Emergency Management peers and others to resolve issues, and to promote consistency;
- Champion safe, cost-effective preventative and loss management approaches in day-to-day terminal operations to minimize potential losses and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate policies, standards, procedures, practices etc.;
- Mentor and coach others to improve safety leadership skills and act as a resource for issues related to Safety, Emergency Management and Security programs and all applicable Pembina policies;
- Proactively and collaboratively engage with field personnel in positive safety recognition, hazard identification, assessment and control processes to manage risk, improve performance and ensure compliance;
- Review and assist with incident investigations, reporting and follow up to prevent recurrence;
- Perform or participate in various internal and/or external audits, inspections, verifications and reviews, including, but not limited to, lockout-tagout, safe work permits, Life Saving Rule verifications etc.;
- Coordinate updates and development of Site-specific Safety Practices and Learning’s from Incidents;
- Establish, maintain, and enhance working relationships with stakeholders, including regulators who have jurisdiction over local operations;
- Complete supervisor related documentation/processes for departmental activities and approve time and expenditures in accordance with budget;
- Attend and participate in local association meetings that are strategic to Pembina, industry mutual aids and others as identified;
- Manage site security and access requirements for the site; and
- Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

**Job Qualifications**:

- Background of safety expertise and marine terminal operations and/or maintenance experience is required;
- Minimum of 10 years of industry experience in a safety related discipline;
- Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role;
- Experience working within a unionized environment;
- Experience in rail operations an asset;
- Designation or completion of one of the following is an asset:

- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (Canadian designation);
- Occupational Health and Safety Diploma or technical certificate(s); and
- Occupational or Industrial Hygiene.
- Strong knowledge of applicable industry safety requirements, standards, policies and procedures including those of Canada Labour Code, BC WCB, etc.;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including an ability to interface positively with Union workforce, operations, engineering and business unit personnel;
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

**This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.**
