Our growing automotive dealership in the Durham Region is looking for a full-time **_Senior_** **_Automotive Service Consultant _**that will be responsible for day-to-day duties within the Service Department. In this fast-paced role your ability to multi-task and work under deadlines will ensure your success as a key contributor to the department. Our mandate of performance at the highest levels is directly related to our talented team of professionals, and we’re looking for more great people to join our team
**Duties include**:
- Maintaining automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned
- Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications
- Determining vehicle needs based on customer information, vehicle age, mileage, and a vehicle walk-around
- Using a consultative selling process to assist customers in planning for on-going required maintenance of their vehicle
- Producing repair orders for customers with full transparency, including cost and time estimates
- Communicating frequently with technicians and associates in other departments to ensure timely completion of work
- Following up with customers on the status of their vehicle via the customer’s chosen mode of communication
- Taking 'ownership' and accepting accountability for delivering above average service levels and sales results
- Processing warranty and insurance claims
- Making best-value repair recommendations based upon the nature of problems assessed
- Greeting customers in a friendly, professional manner, either in person or on the phone
**We are looking for someone with**:
- The ability to work full-time, including alternating Saturdays
- A confident, pleasant, and professional phone voice
- Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently
- A focus on quality, productivity, estimating, product knowledge, problem solving, and team orientation
- _Minimum 3-5 years’ experience_ as a Service Consultant in an Automotive Dealership.
- The ability to effectively communicate: verbally, in writing and listening, with a strong attention to detail; previous Honda experience is considered an asset.
- The capability to manage people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
- General mechanical knowledge
- Prior, well-versed experience with CDK and XTime _(preferred)_
- Exceptional customer service skills
- A proven track record in highest CSI scores
- A clean driver’s abstract
