**About us**

**Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary **is a non-profit organization that specializes in the education and awareness surrounding wolfdogs. Through our educational programs and tours, the Sanctuary is able to provide the public with a deeper understanding of what wolfdogs are all about and how they differ from both wolves in the wild and our domestic dogs at home. In addition to our educational programs, the Sanctuary also oversees the rescue and safe sanctuary for wolfdogs in need, and provides a permanent home to various rescued wolfdogs.

**Position Overview**:
As the Communications Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive content strategies to engage our existing community and reach new supporters. You will play a key role in enhancing our online presence, increasing brand awareness, and promoting the sanctuary's mission through various digital channels.

**Responsibilities**:
**Communications**:

- Develop and implement communication strategies to promote the organization's mission and goals
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication efforts and make recommendations for improvement.

**Content Creation**:

- Create graphic designs, illustrations, and multimedia content that align with the sanctuary's brand identity.
- Create compelling stories, articles, and multimedia content that effectively convey the sanctuary's mission and impact.

**Social Media Management**:

- Curate and maintain a consistent presence on social media platforms to engage and grow our audience.
- Monitor trends and implement strategies to enhance our online visibility and community interaction.

**Storytelling**:

- Craft narratives that effectively communicate the sanctuary's mission, achievements, and challenges.
- Interview key stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, and guests, to gather compelling stories for sharing with the public.

**Public Relations**:

- Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, partners, local businesses, and other organizations to broaden our network and increase visibility.
- Draft press releases and coordinate media coverage for sanctuary events and initiatives.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand our reach to new audiences, both locally and globally.

**Digital Marketing**:

- Implement and optimize digital marketing campaigns to promote events, fundraisers, and educational programs.
- Analyze performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.

**Event Support**:

- Assist in the planning and execution of events, ensuring consistent branding and effective communication before, during, and after events.

**Collaboration**:

- Work closely with our management team to create visually appealing and cohesive content that aligns with the sanctuary's brand.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and insights for content creation.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for design and communication projects.

**Experience**:

- Strong research skills to gather information from various sources.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to create clear and compelling content.
- Knowledge of marketing principles and strategies to effectively communicate messages to target audiences.
- Proficient in proofreading and editing to ensure accuracy and professionalism in all communication materials.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms is a plus.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in graphic design, content creation, and social media management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or other design software.
- Knowledge of digital marketing trends and analytics.
- Passion for animal welfare and conservation.
