**Sleeping Giants Theatre** is looking for a friendly, passionate and self-motivated **Studio Coordinator** to join our growing team. This is a part-time position, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role as the company expands. We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic about working with children, has an appreciation for the theatre arts, and is eager to contribute to the growth of our organization.
We are looking for a Studio Coordinator who will help our students and parents feel supported and to feel like they are part of a community when they come to class at our studio. Strong preference will be given to residents of Cochrane, or people with ties to the Cochrane community.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Understanding and love of the theatre arts and/or working with children and parents.
- Post secondary education preferred.
- Experience in an administrative role preferred.
- Experience working with children preferred.
- Must have access to a laptop and a cellphone.
- Ability to work in person at the Sleeping Giants Theatre space in downtown Cochrane.
- First Aid Training is an asset.
**Skills and Competencies**:
- Friendly and welcoming personality with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Comfortable and confident making connections with new people.
- Comfortable interacting with parents, students, and staff to create a positive community experience.
- Must be self-motivated and able to take initiative to improve the operations of the studio.
- Confident learning and using different softwares, including Dance Studio Pro, Google Docs and Google Sheets.
- Strong Organizational Skills.
- Ability to solve problems efficiently and with compassion.
**Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Be the first point of contact for all students and parents as they enter the studio.
- Connect with parents, answer questions, and foster a welcoming atmosphere.
- Help create a strong sense of community among students, parents, and staff.
- Support teachers during classes if necessary and assist with general class coordination when needed.
- Collaborate on plans to improve current programs and develop new initiatives to help grow the company.
- Learn our registration system, run reports and maintain records.
- Assist with enrolling new students into our programs, communicating with prospective clients and current students to increase registrations.
- Assist with marketing initiatives and community events.
- Assist with social media post creation.
- Other duties as required.
**Schedule and Availability**:
This is a part-time position at 20 hours per week. Hours will be set according to our class schedule. For the fall semester, they are as follows:
Monday 4pm - 8pm
Tuesday 1pm - 8pm
Thursday 4pm - 9pm
Saturday 9am - 12pm
There is potential for the role to grow into a full-time position as the company expands.
**Compensation**:
- $18- $22 / hour based on experience.
**About Us**:
Sleeping Giants Theatre is a new theatre school in Cochrane for kids and adults, providing quality acting and musical theatre training to our community. We run approximately 10 classes a semester for ages 5 and up, including a couple of adult classes. We also collaborate with local businesses to bring unique theatrical experiences to the town of Cochrane, such as dinner theatre, cabarets, and improv shows. Our mission is to bring quality theatre experiences and education to our community in order to inspire a love and appreciation for the theatre arts, and help kids on their journey to becoming confident, creative, and wonderful human beings.
