Acres, a 5th generation farming business. Passion is at the core of who we are and everything that we do, from the initial concept and design phases through to the final phases of each build.
**Responsibilities**:
- Oversee all accounting/bookkeeping functions including the general ledger, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable & payroll
- Monitor the financial performance of the company
- Perform job-costing analysis as needed
- Manage, implement and oversee the Purchase Order system
- Analyze capital asset additions and maintain schedule of existing capital assets
- Improve, as necessary, existing systems and procedures
- Prepare and submit all government reports and payments including withholding taxes, EHT, WSIB and HST
- Liaise and manage relationships with financial institutions
- Liaise with external advisors such as accountants and lawyers
- Ensure adequate insurance coverages, negotiate optimal premiums
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- Minimum 3-years accounting experience in a senior accounting role
- Experience within the construction industry is considered an asset
- Experience with QuickBooks Online is considered an asset
- Highly developed MS Office skills. Advanced skills in Excel is an asset
- Experience working within a unionized environment is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work closely with management
- Forward-thinking and innovative
**Compensation**:
- Wage will be commensurate with experience
- Health and Dental benefit payments
