**Job Overview**:
The **Quality Technician/Production Support** is responsible for maintaining the quality of powder-coated products and providing technical support to the production process. This role ensures that the coating process meets company and customer specifications, troubleshooting issues related to quality, production, and equipment while maintaining adherence to safety and environmental standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Quality Control**:

- Conduct routine inspections and testing of powder-coated products, including thickness, adhesion, gloss, and other relevant properties.
- Perform pre
- and post-coating inspections of products to verify surface preparation and final finish.
- Maintain records of inspection results, test data, and any non-conformance issues.
- Support the implementation of corrective actions for quality defects, collaborating with production staff to address root causes.

**Production Support**:

- Assist in daily production operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and minimizing downtime.
- Set up and adjust powder coating equipment, including spray guns, ovens, and conveyors, for optimal performance.
- Provide support during the setup of new production runs, ensuring the correct powder, settings, and parameters are used.
- Monitor powder inventory levels, ensuring adequate supply for production needs while minimizing waste.
- Identify and resolve production issues related to equipment, material flow, or process parameters.

**Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving**:

- Work closely with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the coating process, such as coverage inconsistencies, curing problems, or equipment malfunctions.
- Assist in root cause analysis of quality defects and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel for repairs and preventative maintenance on coating equipment.

**Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate documentation of production and quality control activities, including inspection reports, equipment logs, and material usage.
- Communicate quality issues and resolutions to management and relevant departments.
- Prepare quality control reports and track performance metrics, such as defect rates and rework percentages.

**Safety and Environmental Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations related to powder coating, including proper handling and disposal of materials.
- Conduct routine safety checks on powder coating equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Promote a safe work environment by reporting safety hazards and participating in safety training.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent. An associate's degree or technical certification in manufacturing, quality control, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of powder coating processes, materials, and equipment.
- Experience with measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers, and coating thickness gauges.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001) and lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand, walk, and move around production areas for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, dust, and chemicals.

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
